intersectional representation
The lack of intersectional representation in our government is anything but accidental. From the founding of America on stolen land, to the building of it with free labor, to the modern day exclusionary voting practices proliferated across the country by Republicans in local and national office, the intention of those in power has always been to keep it,
often through extra-legal or violent means.
Generation WE unabashedly prioritizes candidates that embody an intersectional approach to governance. Authentic, connective, empathetic representation is central to
responsible and quality leadership.

ending the hiv epidemic
An epidemic raging long before Covid-19, the HIV epidemic has continued largely unchecked.
A chronically unaffordable and inaccessible health care system and a government that fails to deliver basic dignities to stigmatized communities have allowed HIV to spread without adequate education or prevention. Currently, nearly 40 million people are living with HIV, with some estimates indicating up to one third of whom do not know their status.
The mobilization of the government, the private sector, and the media educated the world’s population about COVID-19 and created safe and effective vaccines in record time.
When attention and resources are properly paid, we can accomplish great things.
This great thing is long overdue.

repairing our democracy
The foundation of a free and fair society, one with basic accountability of leaders to the people, is the right to vote. Republicans are committed to destroying the reputation of American elections, in the media and at the ballot box. If they are successful, they will no longer be accountable to the public, and democracy will have been successfully broken.
To have hope for the future is to work to preserve our democracy. Universal and easy access to the ballot is critical in this effort. Fair district maps that not only acknowledge, but prioritize people in communities that have yet to be fairly represented in government, are critical.
Education, outreach, and engagement every election year is critical.
Without an accountable government, we are voiceless.
